Greenwashing Evaluation Guide and Checklist
It is difficult to see through the greenwashing of the fossil fuel industry. Greenwashing is marketing that makes a product sound more environmentally friendly than it really is. The lingo of fossil fuels and emerging fuels is intentionally difficult to understand. When there’s a project proposal in your community, it’s important to investigate if it is truly beneficial or if it just has nice wrapping paper. However, it can be hard to know what questions to ask or where to start.
Stand Up To Oil has developed this greenwashing guide to help community members evaluate fuel project proposals in their areas. We want communities to make their own best decisions and be able to hold the fuel industry accountable.
We will update the guide periodically to make sure that you have the most up-to-date information possible. And if you have any questions about a proposal in your area, we’d love to connect you with a group who can help out.
